The Chancellor of Landmark University and Covenant University, Dr. David Oyedepo, has stressed the need for a good education in his address titled; “Our Unique Module of University Education” at the 13th Landmark University Matriculation ceremony, which commenced on Friday, 13th February 2023.

Still focusing on a good education, Dr. David Oyedepo affirmed that many universities lose their reason for existence, which is building people worthy of character and learning.

He stated, “Today, learning has become the core emphasis, thereby; leaving character out of the equation. No wonder there are many educated derelicts today; because capacity without character is sure to lead to an aborted destiny or destiny collapse altogether.”

He also identified capacity without character as a gap. According to him, Landmark University fills the gap. As a result of this, Landmark University receives laudable or praise-worthy comments from its graduates internationally, as well as in Nigeria.

Furthermore, Dr. David Oyedepo mentioned the seven core values which define the culture of Landmark University — Spirituality, integrity, possibility mentality, capacity building, responsibility, diligence, and sacrifice.

The Chancellor cited the 35th President of the United States of America, John F. Kennedy, “A child miseducated is a child lost.” Afterward, he briefly talked about Landmark University’s custom-built programs which include: Total Man Concept (TMC), Entrepreneurial Development Studies (EDS), Agripreneurship, and Towards a Total Graduate (TTG).
